Alex Syberia Designs BetterPress Release Blog Hop & Giveaway

Hi Crafty Friends! I am so excited to share with you the new release from Alex Syberia Designs and be part of their blog hop. If you started here with me, you can find the beginning of the blog hop & details for the giveaway at AlexSyberiaDesigns.com.

The March release is Betterpress plates & coordinating stencils. You may know that I LOVE my Betterpress system and find that I have been using that more than my stamps lately. Plus, you can hot foil all your betterpress plates for a little glam on your projects!

This XOXO card features the new abstract background press plate and coordinating stencil. I used black betterpress inks to press the background and distress inks for stenciling: saltwater taffy, abandoned coral & scattered straw. I used Spellbinders craft foam to cut out the XOXO from Alex Syberia Designs and yasutomo reddish gold watercolor for splatter in the background.

My celebrate card features Charming Floral Background Pressplate & coordinating stencil set. This press plate is so gorgeous and easy to use. I wanted a soft color palette so I used the pebble betterpress paper (light grey) and muted distress inks (saltwater taffy, shabby shutters and peeled paint). I only used 4 of the 5 stencils as I decided to leave the centers of the flowers alone.

The strip behind the celebrate is inked with saltwater taffy. Celebrate is from the new Classic Sentiments press plate and is hot foiled with red foil.

Charming Floral Background Pressplate is so pretty and can be used without the stencil as well. Here I used black watercolor paper as my base. Watercolor paper will give you a nice imprint (not as deep as betterpress paper but similar). I wanted to keep this card simple and use Lisa Horton yultide sky interference ink to press this card.

The interference ink is juicy and shimmery and just looks amazing on the back paper. The Thank you is on betterpress paper using mulberry betterpress ink. This card is perfect for the purple loving person in your life!

I love hot foiling and this new abstract floral press plate is so perfect for it! The best part is you can use the pinkfresh solid hot foil plate to also foil the reverse image and get two cards from one piece of foil.

I used Aura hot foil and white glimmer paper to get the first pass and the white flowers showing on the Mom card. The mom die is also from Alex Syberia Designs.

The Thank you card is using the reverse foil of the abstract flowers press plate. I ink blended AFTER foiling (foil acts as a resist) and then used white splatter from spellbinders. Thank you is from the new classic sentiments using Lisa Horton golden sun interference ink to give that shimmery inking.

I couldn’t help myself and just needed to foil abstract flowers once again! This time I used the spellbinders glimmer clear film sheets and Prism foil. The sentiment is foiled in red hot foil. I used brushed black cardstock for the base of the card.I added a black strip to the left to hide my score tape where i adheres the clear film to the card.

I hope you enjoyed my little walk through of the new March release!
